Remote monitoring through use of an LTE connections

Smaller properties or existing buildings often lack a bus structure or Internet connection which would allow monitoring and management of building services. Wireless sensors and LTE routers or LTE modems offer an alternative which makes it possible to monitor or control systems or implement alarm functions.

Energy and system management

Remote monitoring allows building services systems to be watched and controlled without a technician being required on site, thus unlocking potential for energy savings. In addition to this, MC Technologies solutions are suitable for recording and transmitting consumption data without requiring access to rented areas – all without a wired DSL line and the related installation costs. MC Technologies devices thus enable the implementation of the requirements of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive.

Alarm and access management

Wireless connections to building services can also be used to transmit alarms from the system so that defects are already known before building users notify them. In addition to this, the technology is also suitable for retrofitting of emergency call systems, for example in elevators, or for remote activating electronic locking systems. This solution is perfect for existing buildings since it makes the requirement for a DSL line obsolete.

Regulation of heating, hot water and air conditioning systems; measuring of consumption

The MC100 WMBUS gateway allows readings to be taken in a building and then transmitted to a control centre. When doing so, the device’s wireless M-Bus and LTE module is used to communicate wirelessly with the sensors and the control centre. Applications include monitoring of heating and air conditioning systems or remote reading of thermal energy and water meters.

Management of building services system alarms

The MC92 LTE modem is a cost-effective solution for detection of malfunctions. It can monitor the operating status of systems as well as send alarms and give commands (such as an emergency shutdown). Alarms can be sent as SMS text messages, emails or IoT messages – or as a simultaneous combination of these options.

Monitoring of elevators and provision of emergency call functions

Devices such as the MC100 and MC Technologies router solutions are ideal for retrofitting of existing elevators. Thanks to LTE no expensive installation works of cables are required to monitor operations or provide an emergency call system (voice-over-LTE). Defects can thus be identified quickly and user safety is improved.
