As a medium-sized, innovative company, MC Technologies relies on binder as a reliable partner that manufactures high-quality products that the team enjoys and is committed to selling. The very large binder product range together with its different variants is a challenge that is gladly accepted. This keeps the day-to-day business varied.

Personal
The many years of experience in the distribution of connectors from well-known manufacturers and the individual consultation with the help of technically experienced specialists in-house bring many advantages. The focus here is on personal support and advice for customers. A total of 45 employees work at the headquarters in Hanover, supported by a regional sales team in the field. The rapid growth of new technologies and applications derived from them requires continuous internal, external as well as customer education and training.

Customized
Another successful concept of MC Technologies GmbH is its own cable assembly, which originated from connector distribution and has now been successful on the market for more than 25 years. Solution-oriented project developments from design-in to series production make it possible time and again to implement projects in a tailor-made manner. This includes, for example, the potted snap-in IP67 flange socket (distributor 4- to 8-fold) from the 720 series for controlling various electronics of industrial awnings. Particular challenges were posed here in terms of dimensions, as the distributor is installed in an articulated arm. In addition, a project with the M12 cable connector in stainless steel, 5-pole – molded onto a 10-meter hybrid cable, with special environmental requirements – was realized and, as a result, sales of more than 12,000 units per year were achieved.

Extension
The availability of raw materials and materials is increasingly becoming the focus of the global market. A large warehouse at the Hanover site ensures long-term supply capability and customer requirements can be met at short notice. It is supplied regardless of packaging units or minimum order quantities, including customized packaging and labeling. Framework contracts for customer-specific stockpiling with needs-based call-offs round off the service.

In the other business segment of MC Technologies GmbH, mobile radio-based IoT end devices and complete solutions are offered. For MC Technologies as a long-standing distributor of mobile communication modules from the manufacturer Gemalto, the path into this innovative world of the Internet of Things (IoT) was a logical step. A range of LTE routers, industrial modems and data terminals supports diverse solutions. Thanks to hardware development and software programming in-house, MC Technologies offers maximum flexibility and speed in the implementation of projects and is continuously developing its range of data technology. With mobile module manufacturer Quectel as another distribution and development partner, the foundation for Narrow-Band-IoT(NB-IoT) projects was laid last year.

Combination
By combining the business areas of connection technology and strong partners such as binder as well as the area of data technology, customers are supported with a high level of consulting and solution expertise. An important element in this is the nationwide field service in Germany. Providing advice on products that require explanation and selling them as part of an optimal solution for the customer makes all the difference.

Success story
In 1970, Franz Binder (founder), Werner Koch (then authorized signatory) and Jens Först (then management) met August Märtens in Hanover for a personal discussion. The occasion was the establishment of a competitive production of circular connectors in comparison to “Tuchel connectors”. August Märtens, as factory representative of Sennheiser, a large “Tuchel customer”, was offered the representation of the Franz Binder company. Surely with the ulterior motive of becoming a supplier to Sennheiser as well.

This was to be successful and thus formed the basis for the success story of the cooperation between binder and Märtens or MC Technologies. The great commitment of binder’s management team, the permanent expansion of the product range and the loyalty of all employees and sales partners led to ever new achievements. The success of binder’s products resulted in a targeted solution-oriented expansion of the connector range at MC Technologies.

MC Technologies is now a sought-after supplier to industry for technically demanding tasks. The employees and Rolf Märtens as managing partner are proud to have contributed to the 70-year success story of MC Technologies, also in memory of August Märtens.
